What to do with an old computer? gaming computer builder

I recently came into possession of a 2010 Mac Mini and a 2007 iMac for free and am trying to decide what to do with them. For now I've made the Mac Mini my set top box. It's working decently, and will be event better once I put a new hard drive and extra RAM. Plus now I can move my tower into the spare room and game while my wife watches the Tudors.

I'd love some ideas for the iMac. I'm a musician who does A/V editing, but it's an older processor and can only take 6GB of RAM (apparently). I also do IT work, and thought this might be a good opportunity to install/learn Linux, or maybe have a dedicated machine to start getting into coding. Or maybe something with home automation? I don't know...there's just so many possibilities!

Either that or turn it into an aquarium...
