Help with my HP G626 gaming computer builder

I have had an HPG626 Laptop I purchased back in 2012

I made the foolish decision of upgrading to Windows 10 and ever since that and my constant usage, it has became very slow. I plan on uninstalling a lot of programs, but do you think my laptop has basically seen its best days and its time to move on? also the fan is broke and I have to hold it at an angle so It does not overheat.

if i do move on, what laptop can i trust for ebay, job searching, college work ( not an online gamer but i do enjoy streaming movies and vids )

my budget is anywhere from 100- 1000. if i get a macbook, what makes the apple better?

thoughts on just getting an office desktop mac?
