I need help fixing my old monitor, the screen goes black after a few seconds. gaming computer builder

My monitor which is over half a decade old (6 years) has this problem where when I turn the computer or the monitor itself on, the picture only stays on for about a couple of seconds. I looked this up and found out it might be because of broken/aging LED capacitors or transistors. Can anybody ELI5 on how to repair these capacitors? I use a Compaq computer. I would appreciate the help for this issue I'm specifically encountering.
