What O/S should I use? gaming computer builder

Hey,

This is my first post ever, so be gentle. I have a HP Pavilion Media Center TV m7680n - Core 2 Duo E6400 2.13 GHz that I bought way back in 2007. I stopped using the computer, and it went into storage where I forgot about it until now. I've recently pulled it out of storage to donate or recycle, but a friend suggested the I re-purpose it for KODI or game emulators. I'm computer-illiterate, and I'm not nuanced in this subject. Can someone recommend an easy-to-use operating system that meets these two interests? Also, before I decided to keep the desktop, I used dban to wipe the hard drive and I haven't done any hardware upgrades or mods - the whole unit is stock. Let me know what you think - I'll try to answer questions as best I can. Cheers.
