Cpu overheating for no apparent reason gaming computer builder

Ok, so I have had my pc for probably over or 2 - 3 months now and it's been working fine with me using the stock thermal paste. One day I get on my computer and the fans go all the way up to 100% and the CPU is overheating to about 90-100 degrees. I used my computer the day before this happened and it was fine but I decided to replace the thermal paste and my cpu still was overheating to about 100 degrees while my liquid temp is about 75 degrees. Here are the parts I have. * Nzxt s340 elite case * Asus rog Maximus VIII Hero Motherboard * 16gb ram * Asus Rog Strix Gtx 1070 OC * 3tb Blue hd * 500gb Samsung evo ssd * 850 watt psu * Nzxt kraken x62 cpu cooler All of the fans are stock in this pc if that matters at all. I really don't know what is wrong but maybe it's with the kraken as the liquid temps are around 75 degrees but the CPU temps are over 90 degrees. All fans in the pc are working, filters and everything are cleaned with no dust on them, and I'm pretty sure everything is plugged in but I can check again. Sorry if there are any grammar/spelling errors, I'm typing this on my phone and rather quickly.
