The Raspberry Pi sounds like a great deal! A $30 computer! But here are some reasons why it is a bad idea. First of all, you have to pay much more to make the computer usable.
- Here are the items that you must pay for to make the Pi work as a PC:
- Case ($10). Without this the computer is easily damaged.
- SD Card ($15). Without this the computer will not POST
- Power supply ($5).
So now we know that the computer actually costs $60! Also, the specs are terrible. A cheap $30 Android TV box is more powerful than this junk. 1 GB of RAM will get you nowhere today. The computer is so bad that it can barely handle watching low resolution video.
