Hi all, if this is the wrong place to ask, please tell me and I'll mosey right along. But as the title suggests, I am looking for a bit of advice. My situation is this: not too long ago, my desktop crashed. And so I have been forced to use my laptop (which since I relied on my desktop quite a bit, is not good for much more than surfing the internet and browsing reddit). The only good thing that came out of my desktop crashing was the fact that it forced me to do something I'd been putting off: building a new desktop.
So, I went online and purchased around $1200 worth of hardware so I'm kinda iffy about spending another $150-200 on a brand new monitor(s).. :/ The parts should arrive in the mail in the next few weeks. My dilemma is if I should wait and continue using the 30 inch tv connected to my laptop via HDMI until the parts come in, or go ahead and purchase a new monitor. I can't use the one from my older desktop because it was a crappy "all in one". The tv isn't very pretty sitting on my desk, either, but it is a lot nicer than the laptop. I guess because I spoiled myself on larger screens. Should I wait it out until I can put everything together, or go ahead and make my way to bestbuy for a new monitor?
