Yes, I know the laptops are designed for kids but they look like kindergarten toys! Despite the childish looks I heard the laptops are quite durable and have comparable performance to a netbook. However, the user interface (sugar) looks horrible. There is no desktop with icons. There is no program menu or even a program manager. Instead, there is this stupid icon of a child and a ring of "programs" surrounding it. Instead of icon labels for the programs, you just get a stupid icon. There is NO MULTITASKING WHATSOEVER. You can only run one program at a time. My 386 computer from 1990 has better multitasking than that with Desqview. Sugar is stupid! All the applications on it are stupid and have no learning value or utility. One laptop per child should fail. Kids will at first struggle with the horribly designed user interface. Once they get used to it, they will have no computer skills. They can't identify suspicious files. They can't use the command line. They can't even copy files with a GUI!
