Elgato capture card with a Mini Mac gaming computer builder

Hey all, so I'm looking into a mini mac. The one that I'm looking at has 4gigs of ram, 2.6 i5 duel processor 1TB hard drive. So if I wanted to record pc gameplay from my desk top to the Mini Mac would that work? I was reading about some stuff and people were saying that the Mini mac didn't work with the elgato, and I think it would be a little nice if I knew it would work before I spend $700
