Noob question, is it more taxing for me to use my (quiet old) laptop on my TV ? gaming computer builder

A while back my laptop broke (it's monitor kinda came off its hinges) and since then I've been using an older laptop I had for around 7 years or something. I only use it for office work, YouTube and playing CK2, I was wondering if it's more "taxing" for the laptop for me to use it on my TV with the laptop monitor switched off or is it the same ?
