Move SSD to a different OS gaming computer builder

Hello, My macbook pro stopped working and i'm thinking about buying a windows laptop. I upgraded my macbook pro's hard drive to an ssd. I'd like to buy the windows laptop with a regular and just move the ssd from the mac to the windows laptop. I'm just wondering if that's possible? Would i have to delete or reformat the ssd? How would I do that? Thanks1
