I have been the computer hardware field for 20 years. Back to the college time, when we have the faulty computers, we normally use the swapping know good parts method to narrow down to the faulty area and change parts one by one to try. This is costly and not a sure cure method, we have to get a set of working parts first and paying attention not to damage the working parts as well during the swapping and hope not to bend pins or shoting parts like that.
Now, we have the new technology that allows us to install the computer hardware tester kit to the computer and power on as usual, the test kit will scan the computer hardware and point us to the faulty area directly. This mostly can be done in minutes.
Does this new method take less time and cost much less? one set of kit can test many computers. But not one set of known good working parts that need to match the hardware requirement exactly on the faulty computers to preform the diagnosis. Why not getting more jobs done with less effort?
