Hello everyone. Need some advice on what to do. I have an HP ENVY 750‑514 desktop. I use this primarily just for work, as I have a separate gaming rig. At any rate, recently my HP has been freezing randomly like crazy. It is mainly when web browsing, using Facebook messenger, and watching YouTube videos. It also does it just browsing web articles and news sites as well. Generally, I will be clicking or scrolling the screen up or down and the screen just freezes for a few seconds and then is fine. Sometimes, the screen freezes for 10 seconds or more, goes black, and then comes back just fine and I can continue to browse. I have already tried a Windows reset to no avail. I have also completely wiped the hard drive and started fresh with Windows and no change there. I have an automatic driver updater and my drivers are all current. I have not downloaded anything other than documents for work, such as excel, word, and powerpoint files, as well as occasional images from Google. I have webroot antivirus and malware bytes. What is odd is this computer was dynamite when I first got it, then one day, literally without warning, it started doing this. I am almost led to believe it could be a hardware issue at this point, perhaps GPU or motherboard? I should note that when the screen freezes, one trick I have learned is that if I click on another tab in Chrome while on the web, it will unfreeze. So If I have two tabs open and my screen freezes, I can simply click repeatedly on one of the tabs and this usually stops the freezing.
