Surface Pro vs HP Spectre x360 gaming computer builder

I'm currently debating leaving Macbook and iPad for a Surface Pro or an HP Spectre x360. I've done tons of research and have physically viewed both products but still can't decide due to:

-Price: more bang for your buck with Spectre -Physical aspects: Surface has detachable screen but weird kickstand for using on lap and Spectre has keyboard always attached which is weird for tablet mode/note taking

Any thoughts? I use for note taking with a stylus, internet use, school, and some video editing with a go pro
