Question about destroying HDD gaming computer builder

Hi all!

My last HDD failed and I figured I'd destroy it and give it to Best Buy to recycle/dispose of. I couldn't DBAN it so I drilled a few holes in it and scratched/smashed the disk. Should be good, right?
