Monitor died completely. Trying to hook up pc to tv with hdmi but no signal? gaming computer builder

My monitor died suddenly so I got a hdmi cable that I tried hooking up with my tv.

Basically I thought if you just hook it up together itll start working?

But on the tv it says no signal. My tv has 3 hdmi ports and I tried all of them.

my gpu is a r9 270x and it has 2 hdmi ports.

How can I get this to work? I don't have a monitor at all. So I'm pretty much blind right now.
