Is my GPU dead? gaming computer builder

Some back story... I recently upgraded my GPU from an old 450 gtx to a EVGA superclocked 6GB 1060. I have had the new card for about a week and everything was running fine, smooth fps and what seemed like no problems. Yesterday I turned my machine on and fired up PUBG. Within the first 5 minutes of the game, I was seeing some weird screen glitches. I left the game and returned to my desktop. I then noticed that when hovering over icons, they disappeared and when trying to open the start menu, all I could see was the outline. I promptly rebooted and the issues continued. I swapped my old card back in and the issues stopped. Today I tried putting the new card back in to see if it was due to over heating but once I got to the desktop all the issues reappeared again. Does anyone know what could be the fault here? Is the card dead or could it be something else? I've already put in a request for a replacement and it's been approved, unfortunately it's going to take a few weeks to arrive.
