Computer recommendations gaming computer builder

Hello,

I'm currently looking into getting a new laptop. Id like it to be able to handle solid works, ptc creo, flow simulators, games and eventually when I get the the money VR. Id like it to be in the 14 inch category however I'm reading online that a lot of these computers get extreamly hot to the point where they burn the user when playing on them. For those of you who have a 14inch gaming laptop how hot does it get and is it when playing at normal fps( 1080p ) or when your trying to play at 4k that it gets so hot. Iv also been flirting with the idea of getting a desktop and a cheap chromebook for moble use. Please help! Also if you have any recommendations I'd appreciate it.
