I'm running Windows 10 on a 2016 Lenovo Y700 17.3" w/ 256 MB SSD for which I bought and installed an extra Western Digital 1 TB HDD. Recently I've been having trouble with the apps on my 1 TB Western Digital HDD, which are mostly games. My computer is still recognizing the HDD, but whenever I try to run an app for which the data is stored on my HDD, I get the blue "loading" circle next to my cursor and then it goes away and nothing happens. I can still open photos and pdfs that I stored on that drive, but whenever I try to start a game through Steam or open Battle.net, nothing ultimately happens. (I can run Steam itself bc it's installed on my SSD.)
It might be worth mentioning that after I first noticed the problem, I restarted my computer and found that the drives associated with the HDD were gone. Upon restarting my computer a second time, the drives were recognized once again and displaying properly under "This PC." I've cracked open my laptop to check that the HDD is connected properly and reconnected it to be sure.
Is this something I can fix at home? I welcome any and all suggestions and advice. Thanks!
