System PTE Misuse error trying to install Windows 10 on a new hard drive gaming computer builder

So my old hard drive corrupted and I'm trying to replace it myself. I took the old one into Canada Computers and the guy there recommended a hard drive and said it would work as a replacement for mine. I got home and put it in and tried to boot using a windows 10 configured usb. Once I get past the HP logo get the error "Your PC encountered a problem and must resstart: System PTE Misuse" and then it's stuck in a boot loop. Maybe I didn't install the drive correctly but I'm pretty sure I did. Any ideas? Maybe this hard drive isn't actually compatable
