To make a long story short, it seems my motherboard has crapped out because the disks keep dropping and the only way to get them detected again is a full power cycle. I have spare drive cables so I tried those but the problem persists.
I've been meaning to replace my CPU with one better suited to gaming for a while (which also means a new motherboard). Current CPU is an AMD FX 8 core at 3.61Ghz. Can't remember the exact model.
The main things I am looking for is a new motherboard and CPU, possibly RAM too. Also considering a new case.
The CPU I was considering is the Intel i7 7700k so would need a motherboard which is compatible. The computer will mainly be used for gaming.
Could anyone provide some recommendations please?
