I know ideally I would want to build one, or get one more geared for gaming. But due to a lot going on in my life I am on an extremely tight budget. But my computer is on it's last limb and I need to replace it. I do not need anything fancy, I mostly play older games. Specifically I would mostly be looking to play Dota 2. I do not need to play on high settings, I just want to run it on a smooth frame rate (my PC used to run dota2 quite well, but now I am lucky to get 30fps =/ yes I know that is sad).
Someone on a dota forum told me that this is not worth it for 140 dollars and that it would not run dota very well...but I am currently running it on 2 gigs of ram (well 4, but IIRC windows xp only recognizes two? not sure, not tech savy, that is why I am posting), an old intel core 2 duo I believe, and a radeon HD 4850 or whatever.
Given how bad my current PC is, I would assume that this build would be enough to run dota on low at a full frame rate? The only down side I see is that it is a slim PC, and finding a video card would probably be difficult or impossible.
Sorry for the newb post, I am not very tech savvy and I am desperate for a PC that will run some older games. Also I apologize if I am posting this on the wrong board, I am new to reddit. Thanks in advance to anyone that can help me.
