Laptop recommendations? gaming computer builder

My tablet is dying and I need a replacement very soon. I need something cheap (<£200 would be ideal but I can go over that a bit).

My preferences aren't common, so all the "10 best ___" lists really aren't helpful to me. I don't care for thinness or weight at all, so anything that boasts being thin or light really doesn't interest me. I also won't need a webcam or microphone - so those don't matter either.

What I am interested in is a 1080p display of at least 14". I also like good wireless connectivity and general computing power, but I'm likely going to be using it for web browsing, college work, and remote desktop to my PC. I might do a little bit of gaming, but only on the lighter end with things more CPU taxing than GPU taxing. An example might be Factorio - but gaming really isn't a concern.

I know about chromebooks and have decided that one of them should suit me nicely, but I'm struggling to find one that best fits my needs as a lot of the information on these devices doesn't really relate to such things or isn't detailed enough.

Of the devices I've found, the Acer chromebook 14 and 15 seem the best, but I'd like other recommendations or opinions too so I can make the best purchase as I generally hold rather high standards for computing devices in terms of hardware, and really hate using anything at all stuttery.

Thanks for any help.

Additional: I'll use a mouse so touch-pads don't matter either. I also use a UK Dvorak layout on my PC and finding a Dvorak laptop would be a waste of time, but if I can rearrange the key-caps and get AutoHotKey (or something similar) on it then I'm good.
