Is it possible to rewrite/edit data on a BIOS Chip? gaming computer builder

I'm planning to build a home brew game console out of a laptop and want to make it so I don't see DELL in big bold letters when I start it up, and want a custom screen for when there is no disk or the system needs servicing. Anyway to do that?
