Hey everyone, not sure if this is the place to ask but it seems like the best option. my wife has a windows 7 pc that is quite old that recently decided to stop running. it would only boot to a black screen with courser. we used a kaspersky rescue disk to retrieve any data we needed and back up everything. Now we dont have the hp restore disks and hp no longer offers them for her computer. I did download a copy of windows 7 home premium which is what the sticker on her lap top said it had in it. i made a bootable usb, but now it keeps giving me the setup is preparing your computer for first use over and over again. I heard it might have something to do with the product key. when i tried downloading windows 7 from microsoft directly it gave me an error saying i needed to contact hp since it was preinstalled. could this be the issue? should i just try to reinstall everything again?
