Surface Pro 4 vs. 2012 Macbook Pro? gaming computer builder

I currently have a Mid 2012 Macbook Pro with intel i7 2.6GHz w/ Turbo Boost to 3.6GHz, 8GB RAM, and Nvidia GeForce GT 650M.

I was wondering how that compares to the Surface Pro 4 i7, 16GB RAM. I know the Macbook has a quad core CPU as opposed to the SP4's dual core, but it's also a newer i7 so I wasn't sure how they would stack up against each other. If both computers were running Adobe Premiere or After Effects, would one be noticeably better than the other? Would an older quad core i7 w/ Nvidia GPU and 8GB RAM perform better than a newer dual core i7 with 16gb of RAM? Thanks!
