My PC gets lower FPS than my friend's PC. gaming computer builder

I have better specs than my friend's computer yet I get lower frame rate. I have an i7 Intel 6700k processor with a GTX 1080 video card. He has a GTX 1060 with the same processor. I have 32 GB of Ripjaws V series ram. Also A170 motherboard.
