Acer spin 7 - laptop goes to sleep after waving hand over & across keyboard [Windows 10] gaming computer builder

Hello,

I wasn't able to find anything on a google search so I thought I'd ask here.

Apparently, my dad is saying when he simply moves his hand across the keyboard, the laptop goes to sleep.

He says he reaches for the "delete" key, his hand goes over a "sensitive area," and it goes to sleep.

And he's not a tech illiterate guy - he was a computer programmer for 13 years. But we've had no luck figuring out why this is happening. Would appreciate any insight into this. Thanks a lot.
