Shared internet from laptop (wifi) to computer (ethernet) not working! Dns error! gaming computer builder

My computer doesn't have a wifi adaptor and the cheap one i bought doesn't seem to detect our wifi, so i tried connecting my computer to my laptop via ethernet cable. It worked fine for a day and i did some downloads over night. when i woke up, it stopped working and it detects a dns error. I tried changing the dns settings to 8.8.8.4, etc.. but it doesn`t seem to have any effect.. not sure, what to do at this point. thanks for your replies!
