In my media PC, I have a Core 2 Quad q6600, 8 GB of RAM, and an AMD Radeon HD6850. Some of the more intensive games that I try to run, ex Fallout 4, refuses to open on a resolution different from 1152x648, or the resolution that works the best with my CRT TV. It also refuses to open if I change the settings past the low, medium, high, or ultra preset. I cannot change the settings individually.
I am thinking that the reason is the low clock speed of the Core 2 Quad q6600 (2.4 GHz). If there is no way for me to overclock on this chipset, then I will have to get a Core 2 Quad q9650.
