What component should i upgrade next to increase performance for gaming? gaming computer builder

Current Video Card: Nvidia Geforce GTX 960 current CPU: AMD FX(tm)-8320 Eight Core Processor.

I have slight issues with FPS and such in games and i think overall its because of the CPU but im not sure if upgrading the video card or CPU would improve more for me, right now my options would be a Geforce 970 or 1050, or to get a intel i5 processor. First time posting not sure if there are better subreddits to ask but i figured someone here could help! thanks all.
