Uses for multiple wifi adapters on one computer? gaming computer builder

I think this would be helpful for people searching as well as myself, so let's open it to all OS's

Basically I may have a working (formerly not working) network adapter built into my pc and the USB wifi adapter that supplicated the connection which was on sale at fry's for so cheap I didn't bother to continue trying to fix the built in one (Mercia)

Rather than looking into plugging the USB adapter into a raspberry pi or something and seeing what happens (probably what I'll end up doing), is there any gimmicks that people know of that I can do with the redundant adapter?

(Also it is my impression that I can't simply use both adapters and maintain a reliable connection)
