Hello,
I have an old APC BackUPS XS 1000 that I bought several years ago when I had to live in an old house with bad wiring. Fast forward to now, I am moving soon and was looking for a replacement battery for it that I could buy at the new city.
I started reading around a bit and learned that an older UPS like this has issues with newer power supplies with active PFC. I have a Corsair RM750x PSU and my system is pretty new.
The short time that I've had my new PC hooked up to this I've had no issues, but I also haven't come across an event where I would yet (no brownouts or the like).
My question is: is it worth taking this UPS with me and buying a new battery still regardless of the active PFC issue, or should I scrap it and pick up a whole new one?
Another question: if I should buy a new one, which company/product is good these days? It's been a lot of years.
Thank you.
