Is there a way I can connect my powerful desktop computer to a Microsoft Surface for more computational power? gaming computer builder

I am going to college soon and based off the school's computer requirements (has to have stylus support) I will most likely be getting a Microsoft Surface. The problem is I just built a powerful desktop thinking I would use it at college (GTX 1080, i7 7600k, 16GB RAM). The software I will be using for school will be Matlab and it will solely be on the Microsoft Surface. Is there a way I can take advantage of my desktop computer's power and hook it up to the surface? Or should I instead have the software on my desktop?

The surface specs ill most likely be getting is an i7 16 GB Memory.
