for some reason for the past couple months my computer will cease to be able to connect to any DNS server after 1-3 hours of up time.
windows says it still has an internet connection, but im not able to connect to any website that isnt cached in my browser and services like steam or battlenet cannot connect.
im at a loss for what could be causing it. ive seen people state that situations like this can be caused by viruses (or rather the removal of registry files that have been corrupted by some sort of malware). that seems unlikely to me, however, as I'm running malware bytes pro and windows defender (both set to do quick scans every other day and a full scan weekly). neither of these programs have detected anything (not even pups).
any insight would be helpful im ready to just reinstal windows and call it a day, but i would rather not if i can fix it another way.
specs: intel 4790k, asus maximus VI impact, 16gb corsair lp ram, EVGA gtx 980 sc edition, intel 256GB ssd, seagate blue 1tb for storage. Running win 10 creators update (though this began months ago before this update)
tldr: after a period of uptime pc cannot connect to DNS servers. windows says I still have an internet connection. after a restart, it works again. what do
