Disable FN key on Asus X541U? gaming computer builder

Hey everyone,

Apologies if this has been asked and answered elsewhere but some preliminary googling yielded nothing. So I just bought an Asus X541U laptop and am getting irritated having to press FN for regular volume or brightness control. Is there any way to disable the key? Best I could find was setting up hotkeys but if there was a simple way to deal with it I would really appreciate some input! Thanks in advance everyone
